Precision Underwater Surveying Using Remote Technology

In October 2025, the Smart Ships Coalition, alongside local and international stakeholders, will demonstrate how remotely operated technology can transform the monitoring and maintenance of critical underwater infrastructure. The pilot will survey a key piece of the dock wall of the Bassin Louise, but is adaptable for inspecting other infrastructure such as bridges, docks and underwater utilities. The pilot may also inspect the hull of a commercial ship. This initiative highlights how remote systems enhance inspection accuracy, reduce environmental risks and optimize maintenance in high-traffic marine areas.
